“A neon sign is more than an ad—it’s a piece of historical and design heritage”

Two young people, Luca Patkós and Tamás Racskó, have set out to save Budapest’s neon signs.

In the 1970s, Budapest’s streets still “bathed” in neon: building façades and rooftops were covered with all kinds of neon advertisements, but today only a few remain—and those are in neglected condition. Even so, the two decided to launch a petition for the capital to take this heritage of museum value into its care.
